Ep #109: Living A Creative Life Beyond the Exam Room with Shoe Designer Dr. Taryn Rose

What were your passions before medicine? Have you held on to them, or have they fallen to the wayside? In this episode, Cofounder Dr. Archana Shrestha is joined by Dr. Taryn Rose, a former sister doc turned successful shoe designer. Dr. Rose shares everything about her creative journey, in the hopes that fellow sister docs will be inspired to go after what makes them happy, whether it be within a medical career or not!

Dr. Taryn Rose graduated from USC School of Medicine and completed her residency in orthopedic surgery in 1997. Rather than going into private practice, she decided she could better serve womankind by creating a line of footwear that was beautiful, luxurious, and comfortable. She grew her brand, Taryn Rose, into a 40 million dollar revenue business for ten years before selling to private equity in 2008. She has been featured on numerous news outlets including Oprah, CNN, GMA, NY Times, InStyle, Elle, Vogue. In 2016, she came out of retirement to launch a new line of footwear with her partner, Enrico Cuini. With their patented, proprietary ALIA technology, they’ve combined science and engineering to bring you sexy heels that make you feel as good as you look.
